Welcome to Connecting Shropshire
Connecting Shropshire is a government supported programme bringing faster broadband to the parts of the Shropshire Council area where it isn’t economically viable for commercial companies to provide it.
The Hundred House Hotel in Norton now has fibre broadband, so we asked co-owner David Phillips if upgrading to fibre is something he’d recommend. David replied: “It can only be a good thing, so for me it was an obvious decision. It’s not costing us any more than standard broadband and we’re getting a much better service for our money. Add this to the opportunity fibre broadband brings, it’s a no-brainer!” To read more on this story, go to:
If your property gets a download speed of 2mbps or less, you can apply to the Better Broadband Subsidy Scheme for support towards the cost of the installation of a fixed wireless/satellite broadband connection so that a basic broadband service can be purchased for a first year cost of no more than £400 (taking account of any up-front costs and the 12 month service charges).
