Welcome to Connecting Shropshire

Make the switch

The Connecting Shropshire roll-out is progressing well, with around 60,000 homes and businesses already able to access faster fibre broadband from the network that we’ve installed. If you visit our website: http://connectingshropshire.co.uk/when-and-where/ you can check which exchange area and cabinet serves your premises and check the availability of fibre broadband.

A resident who recently moved to live in the county, said: “Despite the delay in getting connected, I have to say I’m impressed that I’m now getting a 280Mbps download speed to my home in the Shropshire countryside.  Here in Stoke Heath, I’ve got Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) whereas, back in the ‘new city’ of Milton Keynes, I could only obtain 76Mbps from Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC).”

Better Broadband Subsidy Scheme

If your property gets a download speed of 2mbps or less, you can apply to the Better Broadband Subsidy Scheme for support towards the cost of the installation of a fixed wireless/satellite broadband connection.
