The Connecting Shropshire programme was introduced to provide better broadband to areas that were not currently part of existing deployment by commercial providers. Within the Shropshire Council area there are 142,000 defined premises. Of these 72,000 premises form part of the Connecting Shropshire programme area.

About the programme
Connecting Shropshire is a programme to improve broadband speeds and coverage in Shropshire.
Shropshire Council and BDUK are jointly investing around £16 million to improve the broadband network in Shropshire.
This money will help to fill the gap between services provided by the private sector, and public demand.
